Denim on Denim by Kathlyn
What used to be known as a big “no-no” is now the hottest trend for the fall! Wearing denim on denim can be a little tricky, but if done right, the result is eye-catching and edgy.
J.Crew makes an amazing chambray jean shirt. What’s even better is that they also have it in long sleeves. This look works perfectly together. The denim top and jean shorts have the same shade quality and I love the detail of the faded shorts. This would also work with jeans making it easy to transition into fall!

I really like this next look. Light denim + dark denim = fabulous!
The fit of the denim button down perfectly flatters the edginess of the dark wash, skinny jean. The details definitely pull this look together. Notice the cuffed hem of the jeans, the amazing, neutral wedge finished off with an out-of-this-world leather bag…everything about this outfit screams perfect!

Here’s a look I put together myself. I paired a medium wash, denim tunic top with a dark skinny jean. The cinched waist line gives the loose fitted tunic some shape. I also added some turquoise and gold jewelry, a great bag and mustard yellow wedges that will take your breath away!

Style by Kathlyn
We all love a great, summer maxi dress. Not only are they chic and comfy, but they are easy to dress up or dress down! Throw one on with simple earrings and flats and you have a stylish, day look. Or pair a maxi with some rockin’ heels and statement earrings and you have the perfect dressy look. Now that fall is around the corner, how can you transition your collection of summer maxi dresses into a look that’s chic and yet still fitting for the cooler season? Here are a few great ways to wear your maxi dresses all year round! Try throwing an oversized sweater over top of your maxi. If your maxi is solid, pair is with a great stripe or print. If your maxi is a floral or other print, try pairing it with a coordinating solid. Here, a black maxi is given a casual fall appeal. With a chunky, striped sweater, a simple charm necklace and a great neutral wedge, this fashionista is ready for any season!

Another great way to transition your maxi dress is to find a great, fitted blazer! Blazer’s are stylish with just about everything and a maxi dress is no exception. Here, a vibrant floral maxi has been accessorized with a crisp, white blazer, a neutral clutch and some gold toned arm and neck jewelry. Not to mention those fabulous, retro-chic sunglasses.
This last look is quite possibly my favorite. Jean jackets are definitely a fall trend this year and this jean jacket looks perfect layered over a flowy, pastel pink maxi dress. A braided belt accentuates the waist line and long, wavy hair completes this shabby chic look. Fun and flirty. Have fun accessorizing your maxi’s…the possibilities are endless!
